The Ada Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday January 27, 2015 at 12:00 noon at McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University, Ada. President-Elect Brian Myers called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon.

The Kiwanis membership anniversaries of Joe Ferguson (January 28, 2004); Scott Wills January 28, 2004) and Marilyn Green (February1, 1993) were noted.

This Week's Schedule:

Junior Colt Lovejoy and senior Cody Lovejoy each went 5-0 and won their respective weight class championships to lead the Ohio Northern wrestling team at the Wheaton (Ill.) Pete Willson Invitational on Friday and Saturday at King's Arena.

The Polar Bears (13-4 overall) finished fifth of 32 teams with 82 points.

No. 2-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater won the team title with 173 points, No. 9 Messiah (Pa.) was second with 134.5, No. 7 Mount Union was fourth with 98 and No. 12 Alma (Mich.) was fourth with 91.5.

ONU finished ahead of No. 13 Baldwin Wallace (81 points) and No. 29 Augustana (Ill.) (80 points) and No. 13 Trine (Ind.) (38.5 points) in the team standings.

The next meeting of the Hardin County Democratic Central and Executive Committees will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. at Henry’s Restaurant, 995 North Detroit Street, Kenton.

Committee members should enter the north doors and go to the loft area on the right. Those who would like to eat and order from the menu are invited to come at 6:00 pm. to dine together.

The final plans for the Hardin County Democrats Presidents' Day Luncheon will be made. The keynote speaker will be announced as soon as confirmation is received.

Drop your guess in the bowl. The Ada Public Library has a Valentine's Day challenge for patrons. Win the goodies in the jar on the library check-out shelf. All you need to do is guess how many are in the jar.

Former ONU trustee and athletic hall of famer Rev. William E. Croy, Jr., 66, of Powell, Ohio, died Jan. 29, 2015, at Kobacker House after a four-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

He was born on Dec. 22, 1948, in Lima, Ohio to William and Mary (Now) Croy. He graduated from Ottawa-Glandorf High School, Ohio Northern University and United Theological School.

He was an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and spent his career serving churches through the West Ohio Conference. He served at Miamisburg Parkview UMC, Urbana UMC, Lima Trinity UMC, Worthington UMC and Maple Grove UMC.
