Ohio Northern University will host a lecture by Reed Noss, the provost’s distinguished research professor at the University of Central Florida, in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. This lecture is free and open to the public.

The Hardin County Dairy Service Unit is holding their semi-annual cheese sale. The fall sale has a variety of cheeses to choose from including colby, Muenster, smoked cheddar, mozzarella, marble, American processed, farmer’s cheese, cheddar, big eye Swiss, baby Swiss, lacey Swiss (low cholesterol, low fat), hot pepper, and also trail bologna. Cheese is in approximately 2 pound units, except for Muenster, hot pepper, American processed cheese, which are sold in 5 pound loaves. The American processed cheese is sliced, while the mozzarella and cheddar cheese are shredded. The trail bologna comes in 1-1 3/4 pound rings.

The Ohio Northern University Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents “Dancing with the Ada Stars” on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 8:30 p.m. for the 2014 Homecoming performance.

Claudia Crawford is the winner of the quilt made by the Ada First United Methodist Women, "A Winter's Tale," designed by Cathy Smalley. 

The winner's name was drawn at the Harvest and Herb Fest last Saturday.  All proceeds from the quilt support missions.
