SEP 10 MEDIA RELEASE__On September 10, 2025, at approximately 08:33 A.M., the Lima Post of The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a four-vehicle crash on State Route 115, near US 30 in American Township, Allen County. 

Sean Triplett, age 40, of Florence Kentucky, was operating a 2009 Toyota Avalon northbound on State Route 115. Triplett drove left of center and struck a southbound 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by Morgan Krouse, age 24, of Kalida. Triplett continued in the wrong of lane of travel and struck a southbound 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by Joann Kahle, age 60, of Fort Jennings. Kahle was forced off the right side of the roadway. Krouse was forced left of center and struck a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, operated by Thora George, age 30, of Lima. 

MEDIA RELEASE__Dr. Victoria Marshall, a 1995 Ada High School graduate, has been named the new Assistant Dean of the PhD Program at the University of South Florida College of Nursing.

Dr. Marshall, a tenured Associate Professor, joined the university in 2018. During that time, she has secured $3.5 million in extramural funding from the National Cancer Institute, Florida Department of Health, American Nurses Foundation and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.

The Elzay Gallery of Art at Ohio Northern has announced an exhibition celebrating imaginative problemsolving through the process of bookmaking. The public is invited to interact with the work on display and delight in the creative solutions of 15 ONU students and their artistic responses to the following prompts: The Meal, In Ten Minutes, Rituals, and I’m Sorry I Forgot You. The gallery is open Monday-Friday while school is in session, noon-4:30 p.m.

SEPT 9 MEDIA RELEASE__Nominations for the 2025 class of the Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame are being sought.

Applications are due by October 15 to the Ohio State University Extension office in Hardin County. Applications can be found HERE under the Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Area tab at www.hardin.osu.edu or hard copies can be picked up at the OSU Extension office.

The office is located at 1021 West Lima Street, Kenton, OH 43326.

Melville L. “Roy” Craig, age 93, of Dola, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at  Vancrest of Ada.

He was born on September 18, 1931 in McGuffey, Ohio to the late Melville F. and Cleola (Smith) Craig.

On October 11, 1952 Roy married Chrystal J. Seigneur and she preceded him in death May 7, 2011.  

Roy is survived by his three sons: Terrence (Jane) Craig of Ada, Timothy (Pam) Craig of Ada and Carlton (Patty) Craig of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Craig. 

Roy was a roofer with 5-C Roofing of Ada.  He attended Grace Gospel Church, Ada.
