Most of us move through life with a mental script. We expect the day to unfold predictably, for people to do what they say, for systems to respond reasonably, and for our efforts to be met with cooperation. Then reality happens. In these moments, the true test of character is not whether we feel frustrated, anxious, or diminished. It is what we do with the internal reaction that follows.
BLUFFTON __On May 1, Pirate senior Jenna Downey signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Ohio Northern University, where she will swim for the Polar Bears.
Downey is a three-time state qualifier and holds school records in the 50-yard freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 butterfly. She is also part of record-setting teams in the 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, and 200 medley relay.
In addition to her success in the pool, she is a member of the Bluffton High School soccer team.
FROM FACEBOOK__Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio is hosting a golf fundraising event to "help us make and sustain our matches between Bigs and Littles, and give them the opportunity to ignite their potential!"
The event is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at Hidden Creek Golf Course, 6245 Sugar Creek Rd., Lima. Luncheon will be provided on site, compliments of Arby's.

The Governor is scheduled to attend at 2:00 p.m. during an afternoon and evening "Party in the Park."
