ADA__The Ada High School girls soccer team scored early and made it stand up in a 2-0 shutout win over visiting Coldwater in a non-league match on Tuesday night, August 18 at War Memorial Stadium.

The unbeaten Bulldog girls improved to 2-0 with their second straight home clean sheet win.

Coldwater dropped to 0-1 after the loss.

“This was a good statement win for us,” said Ada head coach Doug Dewese. “Coldwater is a very good soccer team, and we came out firing in the first half and dominated play.

Bluffton art workshop leader Hannah Warwick transformed Pandora's Nook Cafe and Bakery with a playful, kid-friendly mural using a rainforest theme. Warwick notes that it took three days to create the bold, modern leaves on a background of blue, orange and yellow.

MEDIA RELEASE__If you live within the village limits, you may have noticed an orange tag left on your door this week. This tag may be used to mark donations for the Ada Schools and Ada Food Pantry on ACE Day, August 22.

The Ada Icon's July 2026 traffic safety poll received 61 responses with a clear #1 priority for Ada area traffic safety: to improve driver awareness of stop signs at County Line and SR 81. Safety at SR 81 and Main St. came in a distant second. Slowing down e-scooters and e-bikes ranked third.

The ability to provide a write-in response was popular. There were 23 write-in votes with 2-3 commenting on the same topic (see below).

FREMONT__The Ada High School boys golf team finished as runner-up in the second of three Blanchard Valley Conference tournaments on Monday, August 17 at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fremont.

The second BVC tournament was held in wet but playable conditions. The Bulldog linksters have come in second out of nine teams in both league tournaments.

Powerhouse Van Buren captured the second tourney decisively with a 306 total. The Black Knights also won the first tournament. The Bulldogs were 48 shots back at 354 strokes.
