MEDIA RELEASE__Today, June 29, 2026 at approximately 4:10 PM. Allen County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Meijer on Elia Road in reference to shots fired. The scene is secure, however, Meijer will be temporarily closed. No suspects are in custody at this time.
MEDIA RELEASE— Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA) are issuing an urgent safety alert regarding the dangerously hot weather conditions impacting the state this week.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will reach the mid-90s today, but humidity will cause the temperature to feel like it is well above 100 degrees. In addition to hot and humid daytime conditions, overnight lows are expected to be in the 70s, providing little relief to the high temperatures. The heatwave is anticipated to last through Thursday.
MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin Democratic Party will be hosting a summer picnic for any fellow Democrats and like-minded community members to gather and enjoy some family-friendly food and fun.
It will be on Wednesday, July 8 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at Ada War Memorial Park, shelter #7. The Party will provide the meat, buns, condiments and paper products.

The Ada Board of Education met on Thursday, June 25, with board president Matt Gossman conducting the meeting. The first item of business was the appointment of new board member Matt Fisher, following Justin Hollon's resignation. Treasurer Tessa McVey administered the oath. Jay Salyer was elected Vice President.
