HARROD__The visiting Ada High School baseball team lost 13-3 to backyard non-conference rival Allen East on Thursday, April 23.

AE jumped ahead with five runs in the first, then added four in the second to lead 9-0.

Three more runs in the third stretched the margin to 12-0. Ada scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning. 

The Mustangs tacked on one run in the bottom of the fifth to invoke the 10-run mercy rule.

Ada dropped to 6-7 overall with the road defeat. Allen East improved to 11-3 after the home win.

LIMA - The visiting Ada High School tennis team lost a close 3-2 battle to Lima Central Catholic on Thursday evening, April 23.

The youthful Ada netters dropped to 0-4 after the loss. 

“It was a battle, all the matches were pretty even,” said first-year Ada head coach Shelleigh Alexander. “We played without two of our top seven. We are seeing more growth and confidence.

The Village of Ada Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 21. Emergency action passed on a resolution to prepare plans and specifications to advertise a Street Paving Project at an estimate of $172,377. 

Village Administrator Amanda Sears said that the initiative covers the paving of South Gilbert from Lima to Dobbins Ave.; Dobbins Ave. from South Union to South Simon; and East Montford St. from the west end of the road to Industrial Lane. The plans also include the overlaying and restriping of the village parking lot. 

MEDIA RELEASE- On April 23, 2026, at approximately 1:56 a.m., the Hardin County Sheriff's Office received multiple reports regarding criminal damaging and criminal mischief occurring within the Village of Dunkirk. 

Deputies arriving on the scene observed several individuals fleeing from a residence in the immediate vicinity of the reported property damage. Following a brief investigation and search of the area, deputies successfully located and detained the suspects. 

A total of five subjects were taken into custody. All five individuals are juveniles. Following their apprehension, they were transported to a juvenile detention facility pending further legal action.
