FROM FACEBOOK__Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio is hosting a golf fundraising event to "help us make and sustain our matches between Bigs and Littles, and give them the opportunity to ignite their potential!"

The event is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at Hidden Creek Golf Course, 6245 Sugar Creek Rd., Lima. Luncheon will be provided on site, compliments of Arby's.

Dinner will be provided by Buffalo Wild Wings at 2948 Allentown Rd, Lima, OH 45805. Silent auction available. 

Other notable sponsors include AllState Insurance - Brianne Marshall, Raising Cane's.

FROM FACEBOOK__Governor Mike DeWine will attend the May 15 dedication of Ray Brown Memorial Park in Alger, according to an announcement by Village Administrator Paul Osborne.

The Governor is scheduled to attend at 2:00 p.m. during an afternoon and evening "Party in the Park."

6:00 Inaugural baseball game on the new field

The Ada community is invited to attend the 119th annual Ada High School Interclass Competition at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2nd in the AHS auditorium. See participants HERE. Above are students from the 1926 Inter Class Competition: Lloyd Guthrie, Leslie Cribley, Russel Long, Raymond Bowers, Royal Shanks, Russell Barnes, Mark Warren, Florine Baransy, Dorothy Povenmire, Suzanne Lantz, Grace McGuffey, Ruth Dailey. In 1926 the event was spelled Inter Class.

Roger Dean Young, 1936-2026

UPDATE A memorial service will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the English Chapel at Ohio Northern University.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. 

Roger Dean Young, age 89, of Ada, passed away peacefully at Vancrest of Ada, surrounded by his family, on March 19, 2026. 

He was born on October 13, 1936, in Middletown, Ohio, to Ellison and Beatrice Young.

Bob Dylan is considered one of the best songwriters of our time. In April of 1976, he released a song only in Japan called One More Cup of Coffee. The song could be found on his 4th album titled Desire. The recording is famous for the backup vocals by Emmylou Harris.
