At a joint meeting of the Ada Kiwanis and Rotary Chubs held on Tuesday, September 30, members welcomed Ohio Representative Robert Sprague. Sprague is currently serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives, following his appointment in February 2011.

He serves the 83rd District, which consists of Hancock and Hardin Counties, as well as parts of Logan County.   

The Ada Public Library was recently the recipient of art work donated by Ohio Northern University student, Abby Brown.

Brown, (Majoring in Advertising Design, Minoring in Marketing) created a literary alphabet--which now hangs in the Ada Public Library's Reading Room--in Professor Melissa Eddings Mancuso's Art 3301 Screenprinting.

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; bingo begins at 6:55. Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club, Ada Music Boosters and the Ada-Liberty Volunteer Fire Department

Several opportunities to join children’s choirs and small music classes for youngsters are available in October, according to Vicki Mills of Miss Vicki’s Music Studio, 2613 State Route 81, Ada.

“Our choirs serve who desire an exciting choral opportunity.  Singers will learn healthy vocal technique, learn to sight-read, enjoy working with like-minded singers of various ages and experience, and develop performing skills through local and studio concerts performing a variety of music,” said Mills.

The past photo shows the old Ada School building, which was built in 1929. At first, this building was exclusively for high school students, but in 1953, an elementary portion was added and the building became a K-12 learning environment.

In 1971, a new science wing and gymnasium was built, and a second gymnasium was added in 1987.

A bittersweet moment came in 2008 when the current K-12 building was completed and the old school was demolished, leaving the empty field that you can see today.
