Additional details on March 14 fires posted HERE from Hancock County Sheriff's Office.

On March 10 a passerby noticed a barn on fire at 2094 CR 60 and notified the residents who were at home at the time.
Ada-Liberty Fire Chief Jay Epley reported that some contents of the barn were damaged but that firefighters executed a nice stop to the fire. Alger and McGuffey fire department provided assistance at the scene.
There were no injuries from the fire.
Epley also noted that March 14 was possibly the busiest day of his 50 year firefighting career. The Ada-Liberty Fire Department responded to calls at Ohio Northern, a County Rd. 10 field fire, a 100-acre corn stubble fire, a fire outside McGuffey, and a Dunkirk structure fire.
This is wildfire season in Ohio. Ohio’s seasonal 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. outdoor debris burning restrictions run in the spring from Saturday, March 1 through Saturday, May 31. Seasonal conditions with high winds and dry vegetation can lead to quickly spreading fires. Epley noted that in Alger a fire jumped a road and a creek.
