Bulldogs Griffith and Smith earn 1st team BVC, district softball honors
Jordan sisters make 2nd all-district team

Four players from the standout Ada High School softball team received All-Blanchard Valley Conference honors in voting recently conducted by league coaches.
Two Bulldog freshmen earned first team All-BVC and all-district notice.
Slugging pitcher/first baseman Tea Griffith and speedy catcher/outfielder Shay Smith were named first team all-league.
Griffith topped Ada with eight home runs, and the hard-throwing right-hander was one of the league’s best pitchers. She batted .444 with an on base pct. of .505, and had a team-best slugging pct. of .767. Her on base plus slug pct. (OPS) was 1.272.
Griffith topped Ada with 40 hits. She also roped three doubles and a triple, and batted in 29 runs.
In the circle, she posted a 7-1 record and was second on the team in strikeouts and innings pitched.
The scrappy Smith led Ada in batting average (.471), bunting and on base pct. (.586).
Griffith and Smith also made first team All-Northwest district for Div. VI.
Junior third baseman Reese Jordan was voted honorable mention All-BVC and second team all-district. Reese hit .376 with a .485 OBP and a .553 slug to compile a 1.038 OPS. She also smacked 10 doubles, one triple and one home run. Reese also drove in a team-high 32 runs.
Freshman pitcher/center fielder Aubry Jordan received honorable mention All-BVC recognition, as well as second team all-district status.
As a pitcher, the right-hander led the Bulldogs in innings pitched, strikeouts and wins as she authored a fine 10-4 record.
Aubry batted .381 with a .453 OBP. She slugged .536 to amass a .989 OPS. She slugged six doubles and two triples, and smacked one homer. Aubry collected 28 RBI.
Emily Reynolds of league co-champion Elmwood was named the BVC Player of the Year. Leah Allison was voted BVC Coach of the Year after leading the Royals to a league co-championship.
Ada won a program-record 23 games in 2026, captured a district crown and advanced to regionals for the second straight season.
The Bulldogs tied for third place with Arcadia in the 11-team BVC with an 8-2 record. Elmwood and Liberty-Benton shared the BVC championship with identical 9-1 records.
L-B edged visiting Elmwood 9-8 in eight innings head-to-head April 20 to earn the tiebreaker.
Van Buren ended up fifth in the BVC at 6-4. McComb came in sixth (5-5), followed by Leipsic at 3-7. Vanlue, Riverdale and Arlington finished in a three-way tie for eighth place at 2-8. Pandora-Gilboa came in 11th and last at 0-10.
ADA SPECIAL TEAM AWARDS
Ada also gave out its special softball awards at the team banquet on Wednesday, June 3.
Fast sophomore shortstop Emily Shanks was named the Bulldog defensive team MVP. She also batted .386 with a 1.046 OPS.
On a hard-hitting team with several fine batters, Griffith was named the offensive team MVP.
Lone senior Alainee Buxton received the Bulldog award. The right fielder batted a solid .312 and drove in 15 runs.
Junior catcher Gabby Fleming earned the Most Improved Player award. She batted .346 with a .514 OBP.
Senior Buxton, and juniors Reese Jordan and Dailah Preston earned the team captains award. Outfielder Preston drove in 21 runs and swatted six doubles.
Along with the special award winners from the 23-5 squad, several other Bulldogs were worthy of all-league consideration.
Junior Sophie Fleming enjoyed a very good season, batting .370 with three homers and 20 RBI while playing a strong second base.
Freshman pitcher/first baseman Maycie Dewese also had a fine campaign, batting. 403 with a 1.061 OPS. She slugged three doubles, two triples and two home runs. Dewese amassed 27 RBI, and also posted an unbeaten 6-0 pitching record.
Featuring three fine Ada freshmen arms, the youthful pitchers combined to record all 23 Bulldog wins.
Slugging sophomore corner infielder Summer Wibley amassed two home runs and 19 RBI as a dangerous top reserve.
“What a year all these girls have had this season,” said fifth-year Ada head coach Jeff Bassitt.
