Twenty-three new members were inducted into the Ada High School National Honor Society during its annual induction ceremony on March 27, according to Sarah Davis, NHS advisor.
Those 23 join 21 students inducted last year. Participating in the program were Jacob Colwell, National Honor Society president, who provided the introduction and led the pledge; Robin VanBuskirk, director of teaching and learning; and Dan Lee, high school principal.

Ada High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) held its award banquet on March 28. Awards and degrees were presented for projects, leadership and scholarship.
Those awards follow:
Outstanding Freshman - Kirsten Poling
Outstanding Sophomore - Wyatt Badertscher
Outstanding Junior - Ella Poling
Outstanding Senior - Noah Mattson
110% Award - Holden Purdy
Star Greenhand - Chance Taylor
Star Chapter Farmer - Sidney Gossard
Dekalb Award - Nathan Mattson
Honorary Chapter Degree - Mr. Dan Lee
Hardin Northern High School graduate Ashton Stevenson, a senior at West Virginia University with a double major in Forestry Resource Management and Recreation, Parks and Tourism Resources, is the recipient of the Unversity Club II 2019 scholarship.
Ashton has a 3.68 grade point average and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars at West Virginia University.
Other activities include a WVU Davis College Ambassador for three years, treasurer of the College Professional Recreation and Parks Society for two years, vice president of the WVU Woodsmen/Timbersports Team and chair of the WVU Intramural Teams Committee for two years.
Ada Kiindergarteners in Bridgette Jones' class recently read the story, "Pig in the Pond." After hearing the story, students used water colors to create a response. The student then wrote the sentence, "The pig jumped in the pond." "We also have been writing sentences using the sight word "jump," said Bridgette. The following photo series shows some of their art work.
Cory-Rawson High School presents "Cinderella" Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium., according to Meredith Bixel, vocal music director.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased now in the school office or at the door the evening of the performances.
