Assistant manager, lifeguards and cashiers

Applications are being accepted now for summer help at the Ada Municipal Pool.

The pool is currently accepting applications for the following seasonal positions:
Assistant Pool Manager:
$12.35/hour
Can expect to work approximately 20-30 hours per week.
Experience working with the public and managing multiple assignments a plus.

Current Red Cross Certified Lifeguards:
$10.35/hour

Cashiers:
$8.60/hour
Customer service and/or concession stand experience a plus.

The pool is open to the public from Saturday, May 25,  to Saturday, Aug. 10.

The 113th annual Ada High School Interclass Competition – held Friday evening – is in the books, and here are the winners:

Winning class: (Juniors) Nora Dellifield, Hunter Wells, Samantha Crawford, Leah Conley.

Individual winning categories: Audrey Hazelton (poetry), Brooklyn Rudasill (essay), Allison Dotson (dramatic reading), Samantha Crawford (short story).

And, this year’s contestants: Ryan Kilgallon, Jacob Thaxton, Nora Dellifield, Audrey Hazelton, Brooklyn Rudasill, Allison Dotson, Hunter Wells, Leah Conley, Samantha Crawford, Alyssa Wince, Cade Mullins and Kesewa Akyeampong.

Mullins, Spar and Wills return to lead strong Ada net squad under new coach

ADA - Former Ohio Northern University tennis player Cody Hurley assumes the reins of the Ada tennis program this spring with plenty of returning and new talent comprising the roster.

The fifth season of Bulldog varsity spring tennis follows on the heels of a team-best 11-2 dual record last spring.

Ada repeated as Northern Buckeye Tennis League champions, winning the title outright in 2018 after sharing it with three other schools in 2017. The Bulldogs edged Bryan 13-10 to win the conference crown last spring.

Spring program at ONU observatory

The Ohio Northern University Observatory will be open to the public on Friday, March 22 from 9 - 11 p.m. to observe the Vernal Equinox, according to Dr. Jason Pinkney, of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. This event marks the astronomical first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

The precise time of the equinox is Wednesday, March 20, at 5:58 p.m.. EDT, but the night sky will be the same on March 22.

At The Inn at ONU from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Ada Area Chamber of Commerce invites Icon viewers to a chamber "mix and mingle" on Wednesday, according to Deb Curlis, chamber director.

The after-hours free event is from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, at The Inn at ONU.

There will be door prizes and refreshments in this "come and go as you please" event. Persons wanting additional information may contact Curlis at [email protected] or by calling 419-788-9459.
