Annual pelvic exams for females of all ages is vitally important. As Pap smear guidelines have changed, some women assume they do not need to see their local gynecologist every year. However, your preventive visit is about much more than periodically screening for cervical cancer with a Pap smear.
There are many benefits to visiting your gynecologist’s office each year such as:
Ohio Northern senior Jenna Dirksen (Beavercreek/Carroll) has been awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference First-Team accolades in women's basketball for the 2018-19 season, the league office announced Wednesday morning.
This season, Dirksen led the Polar Bears and ranked fifth in the OAC with 14.2 points per game. She also paced the Orange and Black with 132 made field goals, 85 made free throws, 66 assists, and 35 steals in a team-high 857 minutes during the campaign.
Ohio Northern University HealthWise and Healthy Lifestyles Coalition of Hardin County substance abuse committee have joined in partnership to distribute Deterra bags in the county.
The bags deactivate drugs in a safe, convenient and effective way. And, the bags are environmentally friendly. The pouch system neutralizes pills, liquid and patches.
Adellyn McPheron, ONU mobile clinic coordinator with ONU HealthWise, said that the bags are being distributed at no charge to the community this spring.
Brandt C. Miller, Vice President, Commercial and Agricultural Lender of Liberty National Bank, Ada, is the incoming board chair of the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance.
The alliance held its 13th annual dinner meeting and awards presentation at Ohio Northern University on Feb. 28, when Miller took over from Andy McBride.
