Who is Ken Lauria, the new village councilman appointed to fill the unexpired term of Beth Fenton who recently resigned to help the Red Cross?
Ken has both an engineering degree and law degree, is part owner of a company, and is probably best known locally for his work helping to organize and raise money for the Ada Dog Park.
He is married to Cathy Cole, general manager and part owner of Cole Motor Sales. Ken and Cathy probably will be the first married couple to serve on Ada Village Council at the same time.
Vancrest’s third annual holiday craft fair drew a large crowd of buyers to see the wares being offered by 35 vendors this year. And, those attending with youngsters received a free photo with Santa at this year’s event. Thirteen-day-old Harlow and sister, Halynn, 2, visit Santa at Vancrest on Saturday. They are the children of Adam and Danielle Hawk of Harrod. (Monty Siekerman photos)

A major interior redo of Ada McDonald’s is underway and scheduled for completion on Dec. 21. The drive thru remains open, but the inside is closed until construction is complete.
There will be new interior design, seating, flooring, and painting. The interior will include a kiosk to order from, but customers may continue to order from a cashier, if they choose. The local restaurant will continue to have a patio, but the seating and tables will be new. The drive thru and parking areas will remain the same.
