The program is for parents and students at Ada High School

Ada High School will host a College Credit Plus meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, in the school auditorium, according to Erinn Prater, school counselor.

The program is for parents and students at Ada junior high and high school. Persons wanting additional information should contact Prater at 418-634-2746, or Dan Lee, high school principal.

If the student chooses to use the credit toward high school graduation, the cost of tuition, books, and fees will be paid by the high school. 

Students may enroll during the school day or in the evening.

Ohio Northern University students gave a new meaning to the term ice-breaker with the annual Polar Plunge on Saturday at the pond inside of fraternity circle. The annual event is sponsored by Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and raises money for the Alzheimer’s Association. Individuals pay $5 each to jump into the lake or to sponsor a friend. This is the 11th annual plunge, which raises between $1,000 and $2,000 each year.

Just when you thought there were no more Icon contests, the Icon Oscar’s Contest is here.

The contest includes multi-choice questions, so you can enter even if you don’t have a clue about this year’s movies.

The Oscars ceremony is held on Sunday evening, Feb. 9. The deadline to enter the contest is 6 p.m. on Sunday. The winner receives 6 passes to the Shannon Theatre, Bluffton

Kick off of Career Tech Education Month

Apollo Career Center will kick off Career Tech Education Month with the annual all area boards meeting held Thursday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. in the Apollo Commons. Apollo Superintendent Keith Horner will be providing opening remarks beginning at 6:45 p.m..

Bob Wrasman, a 1979 graduate of Apollo’s Auto Body Repair and Allen East, and Paul Conner, a 1996 graduate of Apollo’s Welding and Fabrication and Allen East, will be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame. Gina Place, Wapakoneta, will be recognized as the Charles M. Hankish, Jr. Student Citizen of the Year.

Bridge Bereavement Services, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, will host a “Forever Memories” support group on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Hub at Birchaven Village, at 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay. 

Persons who have experienced the death of a loved one can find support in one another while creating a 12-inch by 12-inch memory frame to honor a deceased loved one’s life and relationship.
