Ohio Northern University Archives will hold an open house from 1 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the Heterick Memorial Library, Room 301, according to Matt Francis, archivist.
"Visitors will learn more about ONU history and how we serve students, faculty, staff and friends of Ohio Northern," said Francis.
"During the event you will be able to participate in a 'behind the scenes' tour of the Archives, interact with historic materials, meet your friendly neighborhood archivist, and enjoy a free snack," he said.
In addition, all attendees can enter a drawing to win a $10 gift card for COSI at Northern.
Ada Presbyterian Church hosts a holiday supper and auction on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 5:30 p.m. The auction begins at 6:30 p.m. The supper includes soups, salad and desserts.
The suggested donation for the evening is $6 for adults and $3 for children (ages 3-12). Part of the proceeds will go toward mission projects.
Nathan E. Avery, 48, died on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at the Dayton Veterans Administration Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1971, to Ralph E. and Linda K. (Montague) Avery, Jr., they survive in Alger.
Nathan worked for Eagle Coach in Cincinnati as a finish inspector. He attended the Alger Assembly of God Church. Nathan was a U.S. navy veteran who served during the Gulf War on the USS Hunley. He received his associate degree in Quality Control from Rhodes State College.
Nathan is also survived by his two daughters: Eliza Ruby Page Avery and Eris Jade Faith Avery both of Wapakoneta; a brother, Travis J. Avery of Lima; and two nephews.
Keith Everhart, Hardin County Sheriff, issued the following statement concerning the arrest of three men on drug-related offenses in Hardin County on Nov. 14:
On November 14, acting on information developed during an ongoing investigation into illegal activity, the Hardin County Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence at 4679 County Road 94, Washington Township.
Task Force agents seized quantities of marijuana, cocaine, firearms, drug paraphernalia and over $14,000 in cash.
Three male residents were arrested on drug-related offenses. Charges are pending on two other occupants of the home.
