Tickets now on sale, raffle drawing Nov. 22

It’s holiday shopping time at Beatitudes (formerly ReStore), 210 N. Main St., Ada.

Starting today and continuing through Friday, Nov. 22, shoppers have several options at the downtown non-profit store.

The shop will offer many decorative holiday items plus a raffle for 10 significant prizes is underway. The fund-raiser raffle items include:

ONU twin sisters with CF give informative presentation tonight

Current Ohio Northern University (ONU) freshmen, Alyson and Andrea Hoffman, are twins from Marion, Ohio, living with cystic fibrosis. 

There is no current cure for cystic fibrosis, but these sisters are hopeful in one day seeing one. Alyson and Andrea will be giving a presentation Monday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Dicke Forum on the campus of ONU.

The purpose of the talk is to inform Ohio Northern University students and faculty about cystic fibrosis and why everyone should be educated on the disease.

Alyson is a public relations and communication studies double major while Andrea is studying political science and public relations.

Serving lunch and supper

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 300 E. Highland Ave., Ada, will hold its annual holiday bazaar from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 11, at the church. Please use the courtyard entrance.

The bazaar will have a themed-basket raffle, 50-50 raffle and bake sale.

Lunch menu (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) options: chicken salad croissant, egg salad croissant, pulled pork sandwich, chicken noodle soup, chili, mac n cheese, hot dog, coleslaw, plus choice of beverage.

Supper menu (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.) half or whole portions of : Pot roast, chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, corn or carrots, dinner roll and a beverage.

This morning's Veterans Day event moved to Presser Hall

Because of inclement weather, the Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. today (Nov. 11) in Presser Hall at Ohio Northern University. Daus Hempker will deliver remarks. 

The Veterans Day event will also include:
• an invocation by the Rev. David MacDonald, ONU chaplain;
• performance of the National Anthem by the ONU Chamber Singers;
• bagpipe performance by the Ada Pipers’ Society/Lion Rampant Band;
• greetings and laying of memorial wreaths by
   ONU President Daniel DiBiasio and Ada Mayor David Retterer;
• a moment of silence; and
• the playing of taps.
