Ada sophomore Leona Dalton tossed a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Lady Bulldog softball team to a 13-1 win over visiting Waynesfield-Goshen in a non-conference contest Tuesday evening. The purple and gold evened their mark at 5-5 with the win, while the Lady Tigers dropped to 1-4 with the loss.
Dalton struck out 12 Tigers, walked one and allowed no earned runs in the run-rule shortened game to improve her mark to 5-4. Ada jumped in front with five runs in the bottom of the first inning.

The host Ada baseball team defeated Waynesfield-Goshen 10-4 in a non-conference game Tuesday evening. The Bulldogs improved to 6-4 with the win, while W-G fell to 1-6 with the defeat.
Ada led 3-2 after one inning, then broke the game open with a five-run second frame. Sophomore center fielder Zac Swaney doubled, hit two singles and scored three runs. He also swiped four bases to ignite the Ada offense. On defense, Swaney made a nice tumbling third inning catch on a deep Tiger fly ball. Junior Phillip Coulson singled, scord two runs and drove in another while stealing three bases.
Ada Junior Civic League members met at Dear Darling Boutique in Ada, with the owner Rayel Rose, to tour the shop and do some shopping.
She said that the name of the shop had its origin in the Song of Solomon 4:7 “You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.”
She will close the storefront soon and will continue her business online. Meanwhile she is offering good sales in the boutique.
Members continued their meeting at the home of Anna Poling. Cohostess was Colleen Marshall. Sherry Evans led the business meeting. Jamie Wills, Ways and Means pecan chair, reported that there are seven bags of pecan pieces and one bag of halves left to sell.
Ada Lions Club launches its biggest fundraiser of the year and you can dig it.
It’s the club’s annual mulch sale. While the sale starts April 27, club members are taking orders now, so don’t wait.
All proceeds go to the club’s scholarship fund. Since 2000 the club has awarded $75,590 in scholarship money as a result of the sale, according to Chad Hays of the club.

Mulch can be picked up Saturdays after 8 a.m. at Bass Trucking 0410 State Route 81, Ada. Deliveries are available on Saturdays only.
Mulch cost:
• Brown mulch: $30 per Bobcat scoop
• Black mulch: $35 per Bobcat scoop
Ohio Northern University sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta will hold its annual Easter egg hunt at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, April 14, near the playground at the Ada War Memorial Park.
"The event is open to youth ages 3 to 12," said Cortney Kiser of the event planning committee. "Bring your families out to enjoy the hunt, meet the Easter bunny and potentially win a special Easter raffle basket."
