Gladys Irene Hall, age 93, of Ada, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Betty House at Willow Ridge, Bluffton.

She was born January 29, 1930 in Franklin Furnace, Ohio to Boyd and Clora (Dotson) Hall.  She was the ninth child.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Kelly, Homer, Hobart, and Russell Hall; and four sisters, Zella Patton, Della Gullett, Velva Conley and Beatrice Mears.  She is survived by nieces and nephews. Photo HERE.

Kathleen Mae (Keith) Bickel was finally reunited with the love of her life on March 26, 2023.  She was a beloved wife for twenty-eight years to Mark Bickel. Kathleen's photo is HERE.

Kathleen lived a long, happy life and died peacefully in her sleep at Hospice of Dayton.

The Ada High School tennis team served up its delayed season opener vs. visiting Wapakoneta on an overcast but unseasonably warm Monday evening, April 3, at War Memorial Park courts.

The Bulldogs lost a grueling match that was closer than the final score of 5-0 might indicate. Ada starts out its spring season 0-1 with the loss, while Wapak improved to 1-1.

Sheriff Keith Everhart has announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2023 Hardin County Citizens Sheriff’s Academy, to be conducted consecutive Tuesdays beginning May 2 and running through June 13.  The sessions are planned for 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office, 1025 S. Main St., Kenton.

The Ada High School track and field teams swept rival Upper Scioto Valley in a dual meet Monday evening, April 3, at War Memorial Stadium.

The Bulldog boys swamped USV 78-13, and the Ada girls beat USV 83-51.

Ada junior Mariah King won the 300 hurdles and the high jump events to pace the Bulldogs.

Kevin Smith won the shot put and the discus events to pace USV.

Katherine J. “Kack” Johnson, age 92, of McGuffey, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 12:20 a.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on June 21, 1930, in McGuffey, Ohio to the late Okey and Cloie (Jordan) Risner.  On August 13, 1950, Katherine married James Johnson and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2017.
