Will vote on the Ada Education Association negotiated tentative agreement, accept resignations, and prepare for negotiations with the Ada Classified Association
The Ada Exempted Village Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, May 29, at 5 p.m., in the Board Room of the Central Office.
The purpose of the meeting is to vote on the Ada Education Association negotiated tentative agreement, accept resignations, and to prepare for negotiations with the Ada Classified Association.
Ada school board took several actions at its May 16 board meeting. The follow report includes some of that action from the school’s May Staff Notes, and is not officially approved board minutes.
The following affects the 2019-20 school year, involving contract approved -
• 15 certified staff contracts
• 4 classified staff contract
• Approximately 50 supplemental contracts
• 9 extended-service contracts
• 2 extended-service days
One resolution regarding reduction of force was approved.
Several additional substitute contracts and action involving the 2019-20 school year were approved.
Tuesday's Ada council meeting's location is at Vancrest Assisted Living, 600 W. North Ave., according to Angela Polachek, village administrative assistant.
The meeting take splace at 6:30 p.m. Staff will be on hand to direct visitors to the designated meetign place.

• The board approved the bid for a boiler and water heater replacement project from Walter’s Boiler Works, Inc., prime contractor.
• approved the resignation of Trent Temple, effective Aug. 1, 2019.
• approved volunteer drivers for the 2018-2019 school year: Amy Mullins, Scott Mullins, Kyleigh Tabor and Tyler Craig.
Crystal Huffer, Ada village fiscal officer, was dismissed from her employment with the Village of Ada during action in a special council meeting held April 12.
The action resulted following a one-hour executive session by Ada council members prior to the open session of the meeting.
Council president Don Fleming moved and Jeff Oestreich seconded a motion for Huffer’s dismissal.
According to minutes from the meeting, the dismissal was “due to misfeasance, malfeasance and nonfeasance, each of which is a group III offense as per the Village’s Policy and Procedure Manual.”
Ada council has one more reading to go on its annexation of land on the northwest portion of the village.
The second reading passed on April 2 and the final reading is on the April 16 agenda. A map of the annexation area is above this story.
The land is on the north side of County Road 44.
Following the final reading is a 30-day waiting period before the land can be annexed into the village.
The council held a special meeting to discuss terms of employment on April 9. The meeting, lasting about 70 minutes in executive session end with no action taken.
