Public Meetings

Ada Village Council will host a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Willeke Avenue phase 1 reconstruction project.

The Ohio Department of Education has released the grade cards for 2016-17 for public schools.

They include:
Achievement: Ada C; Hardin Northern D; Upper Scioto Valley, D

Gap closing: Ada B; HN C; USV F

K-5 literacy: Ada B; HN B; USV C

Progress: Ada B; HN D; USV D

Graduation: Ada B; HN A; USV C

Prepared for success: Ada C; HN D; USV D.

Replaces Tara Griffith who resigned

The Ada Board of Education appointed  Nancy Wood Allison as a new member at its Aug. 17 meeting.

She replaces Tara Griffith, who resigned from the board on July 28. Griffith had served on the board for 8 1/2 years. She was board president at the time of her resignation.

On Aug. 17 Dr. Amy Mullins was elected president and Matt Gossman vice president.

The Ada Board of Education appointed Ms. Nancy Wood Allison as a new member at tonight's meeting. Additionally, Dr. Amy Mullins was elected president and Mr. Matt Gossman vice president.

The Ada school board will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, at the school.

Anticipates purchase of $86,210 bus

The Ada school board, meeting tonight (July 27) will act to accept the resignation of Tara Griffith, board president, effective July 28. She has served on the school board for 8 ½ years.

Several additional board actions are anticipated. Viewers may see the entire board agenda, attached at the bottom of this story.

The board will act on accepting a bid of $86,210 for a new school bus from Cardinal Bus Sales and Service, to be delivered in September. The trade-in value from Bus 4 is $3,500.
