Ada Public Library

It's October. Want a good scare or two? Ada Public Library can help.

Two library events this month offer interesting information and potential spooky stories. Here goes:

• On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. join the library for a "Secrets of the Ohio State Reformatory" program. A volunteer from the Reformatory will share some spooky stories about the former prison.

• On Saturday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. members of the Ohio Researchers of Banded Spirits (ORBS) will present a program of their experiences investigating the paranormal.

Both events are free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, October 6th the Ada Public Library will kick-off the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program!

The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. In an attempt to spread the love of reading, and also encourage a successful start to your child’s education, we encourage you to embark on 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Sounds daunting, but if you read just 1 book/day, that’s 365 books in 1 year, 730 books in 2 years, or 1,095 books in 3 years.

Kids interested in letting their stuffed animals have a Sleepover party at the Ada Library with Ms. Natalie and Ms. Amanda should drop their stuffed animals off at the Library this Friday, September 25th between 3:30-4:30p.m.

The stuffed animals will enjoy an evening packed with games, storytime, popcorn and a movie, before we settle down for the night.

Any questions please contact Ms. Natalie or Ms. Amanda at the Library: 419-634-5246.

The Friends of the Ada Public Library will hold a used book sale during this year's Ada Harvest and Herb Festival. The event is Saturday, Sept. 19.

The Ada Public Library is selling three vintage card catalogs to the highest bidder (all 3 sell as a set, not individually).

Stop by the library to examine the items, and leave your bid. Bids will be taken through closing time, Saturday, Sept. 5, with the highest bidder getting the items.

Funds go toward Library programing, according to Amanda Bennett of the library.

Family Storytime at the Ada Public Library took a new twist today as young participants enjoyed playing with the library's parachute. This photo is from the library's facebook.
