Mustard Seed Cafe, Bluffton, offers New Orleans-style Mardi Gras dinner features

Mustard Seed Café,  562 N. Main Street, Bluffton, will have New Orleans-style Mardi Gras dinner features on Feb. 28 and March 1, 5:00-8:00 p.m.  In addition to the full menu which includes 7 appetizers, 8 main course items, soups, salads and house-baked desserts, the café will offer Creole Shrimp & Grits and Jambalaya.

Kings Cake is one of the dessert offerings.  Choose your piece of cake from the tray and, if you find the toy, you will receive a gift certificate.

Beer and beer cocktails are available, including a special Mardi Gras Cocktail.

Main Street Live - where every event is live - opens in downtown Ada

Ada residents in search of big city entertainment now need to look no further than Main Street Ada.

Reggie Keller of Ada opened Main Street Live at 115 S. Main St., earlier this month. If all goes as planned the new business will feature lots of music and stand-up comedy events at very affordable prices.

“Main Street Live will provide music and comedy shows and also is available for corporate events,” said Keller, owner. “If a business wants to hold a meeting in Ada they can do it here. In addition, bookings are available for individuals or bands interested in performing.”

That’s Not Bologna

Bologna is not the only thing that comes from Bologna!  Sauce Bolognese is another favorite originating from that northern Italian town and it’s a dinner feature this weekend at Mustard Seed Café.

Located at 562 N. Main Street, Bluffton, the café is open 5:00-8:00 on Friday and Saturday nights and offers features plus a full menu which includes 7 appetizers, 8 main course items, soups, salads and house-baked desserts.   Beer and beer cocktails are available.

McDonald’s honors Lima employee with prestigious national award

Lima is home to one of 22 Crew Persons of the Year. Ted Boyd, of the N. West St. McDonald’s in Lima,  recently received the Crew Person of the Year Award, an annual performance-based award that recognizes the top performing crew in McDonald’s company-owned or independently-owned and operated restaurants. This award was established to honor hardworking crew employees—those who make founder Ray Kroc’s vision of excellence come to life in restaurants and for customers each day.

HealthChek closes but new doors open for Alisa Armbrecht

Usually a smile quickly comes to Alisa Armbrecht of Ada as she greets customers at HealthChek at 117 S. Main St. 

But this day, the store’s final day, everything  is bittersweet. It’s a little harder for that smile to come. But get Alisa reminiscing or telling a favorite story and pretty soon you’ll be laughing along with her at the oddities and funniness of even little things that she and others do to make sometimes the ordinary just a little more enjoyable and never humdrum.
