A statewide sheep production tour of Knox, Licking, and Crawford Counties has been planned for Ohio Sheep Producers the weekend of Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16, 2022. This year’s tour is jointly sponsored by the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association and Hardin County OSU Extension. Join us for a drive your own, sheep production tour focusing on dry lot/confinement sheep operations. There will be four tour stops on this year’s statewide tour, with each farm stop only being offered at the time listed.
The 2022 Harvest & Herb Festival on September 17 was a like a great big, warm Ada hug. Main Street from Montford to E. University was filled with families and friends enjoying a day of shopping, eating and drinking, and celebrating fall. Complaints? That the wasps were enjoying themselves, too.
The Ada Area Doctor Committee is activating its funds to create a new scholarship for area students pursuing a medical/healthcare career. The funds will be held and awarded by the Hardin County Community Foundation.
On Wednesday, September 14, the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed two new businesses to the community with back-to-back ribbon cutting ceremonies.
Ruthie's, 220 N. Main St., is an existing business with a new owner and a shortened name. Michelle Threlkeld explains that Ruthie's is more the result of "a passing of the torch" from prior owner Stephanie Cotterman. Michelle is new to Ada and enthusiastic about the warm welcome she has received.
HARDIN COUNTY⎯Applications are being accepted for 2022 Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame inductees. Nominees must have made their major contribution to agriculture primarily as a result of being born, growing up, living in, or working in Hardin County, Ohio. Outstanding agriculturalists may be nominated by individuals or organizations.
