Christmas: Birth of a New Hope presented Dec. 15 at Ada Church of Christ

Ada Church of Christ, 316 S. Main St., will present "Christmas: Birth of a New Hope," from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15, at the church. The presentation is written by Jacob Reel.

The performance will be narrated by Reel and singers will be "Jericho Road," "One Voice," Ken Zeigler, Marlene Vance and Rachel Scott. 

The performance is open to the public.

Christmas assistance sign-up in October

Individuals and families in the Ada school district needing assistance with Christmas gifts or Christmas food are urged to sign-up for assistance in October at  the Ada Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. Persons may use the entrance off of Lincoln to enter the church.

Signup dates follow:
Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 27, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m.

United Methodist Women create quilt for a great cause - and you have a chance to win it

For the seventh year in a row, the Ada First United Methodist Women are making a queen-size quilt to be given away at the Harvest and Herb Fest. 

Tickets are available from United Methodist Women and the church office. Proceeds from the ticket sales support missions. 

The drawing will be held at the N-Men’s Club at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Ada First United Methodist Church congregation approves new building plan

RENDERINGS AND FLOOR PLANS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY

First United Methodist Church in Ada has voted to move forward with construction of their new church building on their historic site in downtown Ada.

This $6 million, 25,000-square-foot project will be supported by insurance receipts from the tragic March 2012 fire and significant gifts from members, friends, and other churches.

Tickets on sale for Sept. 28 Awaken Fest'

Tickets are now on sale for the Saturday, Sept. 28, Awaken Fest’ to be held in at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 1017 E. Sandusky St., Findlay.

Awaken Festival is an event filled with the biggest names in Christian music, merchandise booths, food vendors and family friendly activities.

The Fest’ enlists the help of over 100 volunteers, secure in-kind donations, and rely on the generosity of supporters like you to make Awaken Fest affordable for as many people as possible.

Liberty Baptist VBS Tuesday to Friday this week

Liberty Baptist Church, 2955 County Road 20  Ada, will hold its Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, July 16-20. The VBS theme is "Go for the Gold."

According to VBS organizers: "It's time for Vacation Bible School and we're going to the Olympics! You are invited to join us and earn medals, prizes and candy, learn great songs and see skits and puppets!
