ONU School of Visual and Performing Arts presents ONU Choreographers Showcase in two performances this weekend at The Freed Center, according to Dylan Wood, director of the center.
Show times are 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, and 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2.
The performances will showcase multiple dance genres, danced by a cast of over 40 guest artists and students.
From a depiction of commuters in rush hour traffic to the battle of the sexes, choreographers use the language of dance to tell stories that communicate and connect.
The Inn at ONU, 401 W. College Ave., Ada, holds its annual Around the World Wine Sampling evening next month.
The event is Saturday, February 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. In addition to wine, the evening includes food and live entertainment.
Tickets are $32 per guest, which includes an extensive selection of appetizers, five unique wine samples, wine commentary provided by wine industry expert Diana Kerr Brown, live entertainment, and a relaxing atmosphere.
This year, participants can upgrade to the deluxe package for $45 per guest and receive eight wine samples and a commemorative wine glass.
Alger Public Library will host author, Jennifer (Walter) Cannon, in a 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24, meet and greet, according to Stacey Hensley, library director.
The program is at the library, 100 W. Wagner St., Alger.
Cannon has been a writer most of her life and has spent some time as a journalist. “Spoons and Needles” is her first published novella.

Ronda K. Lehman, president, Mercy Health Lima, will share “My Leadership Journey in Health Care,” during Bluffton University’s Presidential Leadership Forum at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, in Yoder Recital Hall.
Lehman will reflect on experiences and challenges in the health care marketplace.
Named president of Mercy Health’s Lima Market in September, Lehman has served the Lima community as a member of Mercy Health since 1995, when she began as a pharmacy intern.
Prior to her current role she served as president of Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. In 2014, Lehman obtained her fellow status with the American College of Health Care Executives.
