Bingo every Thursday in March

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m..

Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper packages.

Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club and Ada Music
Boosters.

Like chili soup? Then you'll love Richland Manor's Feb. 21 cookoff

Like chili soup? Then, you'll love Richland Manor's Thursday, Feb. 21, chili cookoff. The event, hosted by Richland Manor, 7400 Swaney Road, Bluffton, startts at 6:30 p.m.

According to Sarah Foster, administrator, admission is free and there is a voluntary donation to assist the Cairo Food Bank.

A board of judges will choose the winning chili recipie and will award three top prizes:

First place - $100 Visa gift card
Second place - $75 Visa gift card
Third place - $50 Visa gift card

"Driving Miss Daisy" performed at Bluffton March 9

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will present “Driving Miss Daisy,” a drama by Alfred Uhry, performed by the Van Wert Civic Theatre, at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at The Centre, Bluffton, 601 N. Main St.

Tickets are $10 each and are available in Bluffton at Greg’s Pharmacy, Village Cut ‘n’ Curl and the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. Tickets may also be ordered by contacting the Bluffton chamber at [email protected]. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the performance.

Ed Fitzgerald to speak at Hardin County Democratic Party Presidents’ Day Luncheon

Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald, will be the keynote speaker for the annual Hardin County Democratic Party Presidents’ Day Luncheon Saturday, February 23, 2013 at noon at the Kenton Moose Family Center, 801 West Lima Street, Kenton, Ohio.

In 2010 FitzGerald became the first elected County Executive of Cuyahoga County, the largest County in Ohio and the 29th largest county by population in the United States.  FitzGerald is actively considering a run for Ohio Governor in 2014.

Ed was raised in a large Irish-Catholic family, the seventh of eight brothers and sisters.  He worked his way through college, graduating from The Ohio State University in 1990. 

Two movies this week at Ada Theatre

Two movies will be screened this week at the Ada Theatre, according to James Curtis, manager.

A Haunted House will show daily at 7 p.m. until Feb. 13.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters will show daily at 9 p.m. until Feb. 13.

Both movies are Rated R. 

ReStore Community Center offers free tax clinics with Ohio Benefit Bank Mobile Express

ReStore Community Center will have the first of many free tax clinics coming up Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Restore Community Center aims to help you keep more of your money with you and more of Ohio tax money in the community, says Amanda Quintrell of ReStore.  The hope is that clients will be able to recieve greater refunds with the clinics help, she added.

The clinics are done in conjunction with Ohio Benefit Bank which is an internet software program available through the Ohio Association of Foodbanks.
