The Ada Public Library will be offering free Zumba classes throughout September and October.  

According to Amanda Bennett, library director, licensed Zumba instructor Lynne Scott will offer the first orientation class this Saturday, August 31 at 11 a.m..  

Classes will then begin on Saturday, September 14 at 11 a.m. and run each Saturday thereafter through Saturday, October 26.  Each class will run roughly 40 minutes.

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce's 28th annual Ada Harvest and Herb Festival is closer than you think!

This year's festival is Saturday, Sept. 21, in downtown Ada. Booths registrations are begin accepted and details about this year's festival are now available.

Two attachments at the bottom of this story provide a copy of the booth application form and the booth regulations and requirements.

The Allen County Master Gardener Association will be hosting The Butterfly Migration Celebration on Sunday, September 8, 2013 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at The Children’s Garden in Lima.

This unique event features the release of dozens of monarch butterflies; butterfly-themed children’s activities; an educational butterfly presentation and much more.

The Children’s Garden is currently funded exclusively by donations and is staffed by volunteers.  The Allen County Master Gardener Association relies on the support of the community to continue maintaining the garden and offering educational opportunities to the residents of the region.

The OhioDance Festival and Confererence, an annual statewide celebration of dance through classes, workshops, discussions and performances will take place on the Ohio Northern Unversity campus from Sept. 27-29, according to Liz Coulston.

A cooking class especially for diabetics, “Dining with Diabetes”, will be beginning Monday, September 23 at 5 p.m., in Kenton. 

The class is being coordinated and taught by Kathy Oliver, OSU Extension Educator, Bernadette Coats, Hardin Memorial Hospital Certified Diabetes Educator, and Beth Hull, Hardin County YMCA.

Dining With Diabetes is a three evening cooking school and a nutrition education program. The course will teach diabetics about caring for their diabetes and how to include more physical activity into your day.  A variety of main dishes, side dishes and desserts will be tried over the course of the class.
