The Alger Memorial Festival Committee announced plans for its 2 p.m., Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 25.
The Theme for the parade this year is “Never Forget- Forever Honor.” Line up at the old Alger school on Main St at 1 p.m.

Marion Lee “Buzz” Lawrence, age 83, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 1:33 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born March 28, 1932 in Hardin County, Ohio to Oliver Clay and Idorah Norma Jean (Johnson) Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and step father, Forest Eugene Donnal. On September 15, 1954 he married Madonna Jean Dirmeyer and she survives in Alger.
Betty M. Watkins, 72, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 6:11 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born January 28, 1943 in Lima, Ohio to Theodore and Hazel (Marshall) Newland and they preceded her in death. She married Leroy C. Watkins on April 11, 1959 and he survives in Alger.
The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) announced it will begin accepting entries for the 2015 “Agriculture is Cool!” Creative Expressions contest. Ohio children enrolled in school or home schooled during the 2014-2015 academic year have until June 5, 2015, to capture their personal interpretation of why Ohio agriculture is cool for their chance to win prizes including tickets to the Ohio State Fair.
“Ag is Cool!” entries, which can include an original video, photograph, drawing, or painting, will be judged in the following age categories. One winner from each age group and category will be chosen:

County Line Church of the Brethren's 9th annual car show is planned Saturday, July 11, at the church, 4227 N. Hardin Road, Harrod.
Registration is from 11 a.m. to noon. The show is from noon to 3 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee with door prizes for car owners plus Top Ten Awards presented.
A chicken barbecue takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $8. Call 419-649-5364 for tickets.
The show also includes children's activities with face painting and a bounce house. Funds generated from the afternoon are used to pay for the church's new activity center.
