Here are nine products to consider stocking in your medicine cabinet to keep yourself and your family healthy.

1. Pain and fever reducer

If you have pain or a fever, having acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) in your medicine cabinet is important.

When taking these medications, do not exceed the recommended daily amounts. Taking more than recommended can be harmful.

These types of medications may not be safe for some people. Be sure to speak with your health care provider about which pain and fever reducer is the safest for you.

We see nutrition labels every day on nearly everything we eat. But what good are they if we don’t understand what we’re actually eating?

Here are some ways to decode the label and some of the ingredients we often see.

Let's start at the beginning.

1) Serving Size

This is found at the top of the label. People often overlook or don’t understand a food’s serving size. It’s important to pay attention to portion size to make sure you’re not eating too much (which could lead to weight gain) or too little (not getting the full nutritional value).
