Ada's future weather forecaster points to "snow" on the ONU Preschool bulletin board earlier this week. The Icon stopped in the preschool just as the morning routine was underway. One important piece of the routine is for a student to point the the day's weather conditions.
This note from the ONU Facebook:
"Even though Carol Channing wasn't an ONU alumna, she will always be a Polar Bear in our hearts.
"Ms. Channing performed the first concert at ONU's Freed Center for the Performing Arts on April 27, 1991, and absolutely knocked it out of the park.
Apart from her obvious talent, she was an incredibly kind and thoughtful person, even sending us personal Christmas cards after her one visit to Ada. Thank you, Ms. Channing!"
Ms. Channing died at 12:31 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at home in Rancho Mirage, California, of natural causes.
