The Ada Icon and sister website, Bluffton Icon, this week introduce new logos to viewers. The logos unveiling is today.
The redesign project started in May and included several versions and fine-tuning.
"We wanted a uniquely Ada and Bluffton look and feel to our logos," said Fred Steiner of the Icon. "Changing logos isn't something you do overnight. It takes planning, studying other logos and a desire to make viewers feel at home on our websites. We think these new logos achieve that hometown feel."
Core said that his construction company will donate between $700 and $1,000 from each construction project out of his own pay to Boots for Bulldogs until that organization’s $44,000 goal is reached. So far nearly $13,000 is raised without Core. He has adopted one door already a $350 donation about two months ago.
ADA - Despite a hiccup in set two, the Ada volleyball team swept visiting backyard rival Upper Scioto Valley in straight sets on a warm Tuesday evening.
The Lady Bulldog spikers improved to 3-1 by winning the non-league match 25-12, 25-21, 25-6. USV fell to 0-1 after losing their first match.
"We are focusing on eliminating errors," said new Ada head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "We made 15 errors in the second set, but only four in the third.
"We can't win games if we don't take care of the ball and clean up our game. But we covered on defense well, did well in serve receive and served aggressively," she added.
Bridge Bereavement Services is offering a “Sew Many Memories” grief support program on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay. The Sept. 27 session will be for planning purposes and the October 6 session will be used for sewing. This program will offer participants the opportunity to turn their loved one’s clothing into a keepsake.
Kathy M. Risner, age 65, died on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 9:57 p.m. at OSU Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
She was born July 22, 1953 in Allen County, Ohio to Willis and Elsie (Conley) Shinkle. Her parents and step-father, Thomas Marshall, are deceased.
Surviving are her four sons: Michael (Kathleen) Risner II of Alger, James Matthew (Krisha) Wall, III of Lima, Nathaniel (Rina) Wall of Columbus and Jacob Wall of Columbus; daughter: Cassandra Wall of Columbus; ; two sisters: Charity Dunson of Lima and Reba Shinkle of Texas; 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
