Ada Icon and Bluffton Icon owner-editor
Every now and then, I like to remind Icon readers why I moderate comments on our Facebook pages. My goal is to ensure that the information we share on Facebook is accurate and aligned with our news website focus.
As the moderator, I can hide or delete comments.
I consider these Facebook pages my "parlor," where I don't allow guests to get out of hand. If you want to vent your spleen, you may share Icon posts on your own Facebook page.
Do Ada Icon readers feel connected to the community and will Ada Icon readers take the time to take a poll? Those were the questions to be answered by our May 28 poll.
Of the 34 votes cast, 7 said "not very" or "not connected at all" and 25 responses were "somewhat," "very," or "connected."

Send free garage sale ads by Wednesday noon for Thursday sales
By Paula Pyzik Scott
Let's talk about free ads on the Bluffton and Ada Icons. Free garage sale ads are among our most popular, along with help wanted, announcements and other free ads.
Except for garage sales, money-making endeavors require paid ads, which are just $10/10 days. This includes sales, services and ticketed events. The Icons offer BOGO real estate ads, which are posted on both Icons.
Estate sales are not garage sales. Home-based business sales are not garage sales. "I have a sale ten times a summer, every summer" exceeds our offer.
