Ever hear of an escape room?

There are several escape rooms in the bigger cities in Ohio and one in Findlay. Soon, there will be one nearby. In order to keep Ada Icon readers in the know on the latest trends, we did some digging to find out what an escape room is all about.

Ray Hadley, who is pastoring a church called Ada Family Center, explained that escape rooms are a live adventure game in which players solve a series of puzzles using clues, hints, and strategy to solve the mystery of each room.

Curious George gives his approval for the expanded children’s area at the Ada Public Library. The room has new tables and chairs, a purple carpet, and stairs to sit on during storytime...or anytime. (Monty Siekerman photo)

That's advice from the Ada school nurse

Don’t let the flu get you, and, if you are sick, stay home and get well. That’s the message Marlene Vermillion posted on Facebook earlier this week. She is the Ada school nurse.

Ada has 880 students enrolled. On Tuesday, there were 24 students out in the elementary and 18 in the high school. During the worst of the flu season last year, there were as many as 80 students absent on any given day in the high school alone.

But to prevent Ada numbers from increasing, read this note from the nurse:

The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern  has received a full five-year extension of accreditation from theAssociation to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. (AACSB).

AACSB-accredited schools have the highest-quality faculty and relevant and challenging curricula. Less than 5 percent of the world’s business programs have earned AACSB accreditation.

Ohio Northern senior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) and sophomore Emily Mescher(Maria Stein/Marion Local) led the No. 10-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team to its 17th consecutive victory as Northern defeated Ohio Athletic Conference-foe Wilmington 71-48 on Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 17-1 overall and stay perfect in the OAC at 11-0, while the Quakers drop to 9-9, 4-7.
