Wynn Hauenstein, an Ada High School and ONU grad, spoke today at the annual ONU observance for Veterans Day in Presser Hall. Wynn told of his experience during the Vietnam War.

Wynn described the struggles Vietnam veterans faced, also debunking several myths held about the war at the time. He closed with saying how proud he is to have served and how he firmly believes this country is “the greatest on the face of the earth.”

Invited to be on U.S. national team for Down Under Sports

Four Hardin County high school track and field athletes have been invited to participate on the USA track and field national team by Down Under Sports. 

They will participate in a maximum of five events during a three-day meet in Australia in July 2018. Each qualified to participate because of their age and outstanding performances during the 2017 track and field season. They will join 296 other track and field athletes from across the nation in the Down Under Games. 

The Ohio Northern football team celebrated Senior Day with an impressive 42-25 victory over Baldwin Wallace on a cold Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

The Polar Bears (7-3 overall, 6-3) finish in a three-way tie for second in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 6-3 record and clinches an upper division finish in the league for the 21st time in the past 22 seasons.

Baldwin Wallace ends its season 6-4, 5-4.

The No. 14-ranked Ohio Northern women's soccer team used two late first half goals on Saturday afternoon to top visiting Penn St.-Behrend 2-0 in the First Round of the 2017 NCAA Div. III Women's Soccer Tournament at Kerscher Stadium

The Polar Bears improve to 18-1-2 overall, while the Lions end their season at 10-5-3.

ONU advances to the second round of the NCAA Div. III Tournament, where it will take on No. 20-ranked Illinois Wesleyan at 1:30 pm at Kerscher Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The No. 20-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball saw its season move onto the Third Round of the NCAA Div. III Tournament on Saturday evening as it swept Ohio Athletic Conference-foe and No. 25-ranked Otterbein 3-0 at the Rike Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 29-5 overall, while the Cardinals season concludes with a 30-5 record.

Sophomores McKenna Jordan (Toledo/St. Ursula) and Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) shined for the Polar Bears as the duo led the way offensively and defensively.

They next play Sunday, Nov. 12, against Wittenberg.
