In cooperation with Ohio Rural Community Assistance Program, the Village is hosting a public meeting on Monday, August 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Community Health Professionals Building.
Ohio RCAP has asked Ada to assist them with a rural community development initiative grant application through the USDA. The uses of these potential grant funds are determined based on the needs of the individual community, and the input of the Ada community is crucial.
Uses may include development of home-ownership education, preparation of strategic planning, training tools for fundraising, find alternative funding sources, and developing child care facilities.
Parents, teachers, and students know it’s about that time. Ada Schools are scheduled to resume classes for the 2013-2014 school on Monday, Aug.19. Ohio Northern undergraduate courses are scheduled to resume on Monday, Aug. 26.
Those involved in back to school activities have their to-do lists full. Those who aren’t directly involved in activities make think the bustle at this time of year have nothing to do with them.
Beginning on Thursday, the Lincoln Highway Buy Way will once again be visible in and around town. The annual community wide garage sales will be continuing through Saturday, and maps of pre-registered sales are available in the Village Offices and throughout town.
Be a part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Lincoln Highway by visiting the sales! Ada CIC and Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will again have a daily information tent on Main Street in front of the Railroad Park – stop by to pick up a map, and shop the Ada historic items!
You are waiting for your pizza to be delivered, and you wonder why it is taking so long. Finally the driver arrives, frustrated because she couldn’t find your address on your house.
Waiting a few extra minutes for a pizza is an inconvenience, but having an improperly placed street address, or no visible street address, could be a life or death situation when emergency services are trying to respond to a call.
Work orders for water and sewer services are issued based on street addresses, and if Village employees have difficulty locating your house number, your requested work may be delayed.
The first thing many of us think about when we think of trees and summer is the cool shade they provide our homes, yards, and sidewalks. Healthy trees continue to provide a valuable resource to our community.
Summer is also the time when we notice trees that are stressed. In the heart of winter, it’s hard for most people to tell if a tree is dead or diseased. However, in the summer, the lack of leaves, abundance of suckers, and dieback can be signs that the tree needs some care.
It’s Lincoln Highway Buy Way Time!

For nine years, Ada Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) and the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce have continued to sponsor the Lincoln Highway Buy–Way Yard Sale. This year is no different!
