The Ada Public Library wants you to learn what "Lynda" can do for you.
Lynda, a.k.a, Lynda.com, offered more than 12,000 expert-led courses designed for any skill level.
A free training session takes place at the library at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30. All you need is an Ada Public Library card to take the training. A visit to Lynda.com website reveals countless courses available in design, software development, photography, web development and business, as examples.
Lynda.com is an online learning platform that helps anyone learn business, software, technology and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals.
Dr. Amy Mullins was elected board president and Matt Gossman board vice president at the 2019 Ada school board reorganization meeting held Jan. 10.
The following board members represent the school district on board committees:
• Troy Erickson and Ron Fleming – policy committee
• Amy Mullins – student achievement liaison to the Ohio School Boards Association
• Ron Fleming – tax abatement committee
• Ernie Daughtery – scholarship committee
• Troy Erickson and Amy Mullins – audit committee

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) is offering educational scholarships to individuals pursuing health care careers. BVHS associates and current college students may be eligible to apply.

Ada Public Library’s adult book discussion group’s focus in February is “Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress" by Dai Sijie (translated by Ina Rilke).
The book discussion, open to the public, is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the library. The monthly discussion group is open to new members and registration is requested.
