Believe it or not, Ada had an 800-seat opera house and was able to support New York road shows some 90 years ago (1880). Players stopped here because facilities were good and the village was about midway between Pittsburg and Chicago on the main line of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Troy J. Wilcox, age 49, died on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 9:24 PM at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on December 29, 1969 in Lima, Ohio to David and Janet (Stalnaker) Wilcox. His father, David preceded him in death and his mother Janet survives in Waynesfield, Ohio. On September 23, 1995 Troy married Stormy Hewitt and she survives in Harrod.

LIMA - The Ada swim teams competed at the annual, 21-school Lima Holiday Invitational meet Thursday, December 27 at the YMCA natatorium.
Ada junior Klava Katayama captured first in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle races to score all 40 Lady Bulldog points.
The purple and gold girls finished 15th out of 21 teams, while the Bulldog boys came in 17th out of 20 squads.
Shawnee won both the boys (372.5 points) and combined team titles (639). Ottawa-Glandorf won the girls team crown with 304 points.
Ada sophomore Paige Cole finished 17th in the 100 breaststroke (1:23.02) to just miss scoring by one place.
This may be the closest thing Ada gets for snow on the ground before the new year. It's a watercolor by Professor James DeVore, who taught for over 30 years at Ohio Northern University before retiring in 1997. (From ONU Department of Art and Design Facebook).
