This year's dinner is Nov. 5 in McIntosh Center

Ada's Town and Gown committee is accepting nominations for Ada's Distinguished Citizen of the Year, according to Deb Curlis, director of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.

This year's Town and Gown dinner is Monday, Nov. 5, at McIntosh Center on the ONU campus. Tickets are $20. More information on ticket sale locations and the program will follow on the Icon.

With a concentration in sound recording technology

The National Association of Schools of Music has accredited a new program at Ohio Northern. The ONU music department has received approval for the Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in sound recording technology.

The program involves a study abroad to the University of Stafford in Manchester, England, during the first semester of the junior year. While there, students will work with Media City employees of the BBC.

“Up in the sky, look: It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Superman!” You’ve heard that quote many times. Ever wonder what that plane is flying over Ada as you look up into the sky? Now you can know.

There’s an app for that. It tells you anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day what planes are in the sky. Right now there is an airplane near SR 309 just north of Alger—it’s a 737 flying at 34,000 feet, at 363 knots per hour (418 mph), that left Boston at 5:55 and will arrive in Phoenix at 7:17.

Several area school districts including Bluffton have received funding for School Safety Training Grants, asccording to State Representative Bob Cupp (R-Lima). The grants are through a provision of Amended Substitute House Bill 318.

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Ohio Northern men's soccer program captured its sixth successive victory Wednesday evening, defeating Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Adrian (Mich.) at Adrian as the Polar Bears concluded their 2018 non-conference slate.

With the victory, Northern improves to 7-2-1 on the season while the Bulldogs fall to 3-5-0 overall.

The Polar Bears received goals from senior back Michael Bringard and sophomore defender Beelal Hasan providing the offense needed to fuel the victory.
