Dorothy Marie Rayl, 81, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at 5:40 p.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

She was born on March 20, 1939, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Lester and Kathryn (Morehead) Ackerman.  On June 15, 1957, Dorothy married Gerald Rayl who survives in Ada.

Dorothy is also survived by her two sons and daughter: Kevin (Karen) Rayl, Rodney (Wendy) Rayl and Rebecca Rayl all of Ada; and three grandchildren: Andrew Rayl, Jacob Rayl and Eli Esguerra. 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Ackerman.  

Linda K. Dyer, 83, passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at 7:32 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1937, in Hardin County, Ohio, to the late Allen Samuel and Mabel (Flowers) Parr. In 1961 Linda married Richard C. Dyer and he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2018.

Linda is survived by her two sons: Randolph (Kathy Lee) Dyer of Lima and Stacey Dyer of Midland, Texas; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; and a brother, Stephen Parr of Kenton.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Harold, Donald and Alvin Parr.

Alice (Bailey) Hothem, 79, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at 6:41 p.m. at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.

She was born on Nov. 14, 1941, in McGuffey, Ohio, to the late Jarvie and Hazel (Clark) Bailey.  Alice married Howard Keith Hothem and he preceded her in death.

Alice retired from being a home health care provider. She was a member of the Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God in Alger, Ohio since 1991. She was an avid gardener, loved to crochet and read.

He served as recreation manager at McIntosh Center

Philip R. Quattrocchi, 91, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. at his residence in Ada.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1930, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Andre and Jennie (Lanza) Quattrocchi. On June 9, 1957, Philip married Betty E. Tarr and she preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2002.

Philip retired from Ohio Northern University, Ada, where he was the Recreation Manager at McIntosh Center. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran. Philip was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ada. He was a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 and a former member of the Italian American Club in Lima.

 Helen L. Shaw, 94, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, at 5:05 p.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

She was born on Aug. 28, 1926, in Lima, Ohio, to Harry Elmer and Mildred (Vance) Gray who preceded her in death. On Feb. 17, 1952, she married Leo Eugene Shaw who preceded her in death in 1994.

Helen retried from Continental Can, where she worked as an inspector. She was a member of the Harrod United Methodist Church. She was a proud member of the knitting club at the church. 

Christopher Jay “Chris” Cottrell, 67, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, at 4:36 a.m. at his residence in Ada.

He was born on June 3, 1953, in Lima, Ohio, to the late David W. Cottrell and Dorothy G. (Winks) Cottrell.  Christopher married Miriam R. Heyneman and she survives in Ada.

Chris retired from INEOS Corp, where he worked as a general operator. He was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple.   

Also surviving is his daughter, Stacy (Boyd) Geedey of Ada; three grandchildren: Haley (Seth) Sheriff, Lindsay Crouse and Michael Crouse; a great grandson, Zayne; a brother, David (Amy) Cottrell of Cridersville; and a sister, Victoria (John) Czysz of Tucson, Arizona.
