Most everyone in Ada who wants a job must have one because only three people attended the three-hour jobs fair at the Ada Public Library on Thursday afternoon.
In comparison, about 40 people showed up in the first half hour at a similar jobs fair in Kenton, according to representatives from Jobs and Family Services, who sponsored the fair at the library.
The Village of Ada, The Inn, Adecco, ONU grounds department, and Vancrest of Ada all had representatives at the Ada jobs fair seeking employees. One sees many Help Wanted signs around town, especially at McDonalds and Dollar General, but they did not attend.
How often do you see a school superintendent take the wheel of an Indianapolis 500 race car? Meri Skilliter, the leader of the Ada Schools, was in Indianapolis to learn about building strategic partnerships from the leadership at the Indianapolis Speedway. And, for a while at least, she got to sit behind the wheel of an antique racer. The 500 is what Naptown is known for—“The greatest spectacle in racing.” We expect her home by Thursday night...that’s board meeting night.
Farthing Real Estate & Auctioneers, Findlay, will hold an auction involving many antique idtems from the Thomas Hursey collection in Bluffton, at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28.
The auction is at 357 S. Jackson St., Bluffton. It includes antique furniture, primitives, bottles, jars, guns, glassware, figurines, and other items.
The Hancock Historical Museum will host the 2018 Historic Homes Tour Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13, according to Sarah Sisser, director.
The Historic Homes Tour has been a springtime favorite for more than 40 years.
The biennial event showcases the beautiful historic architecture of the City of Findlay and Hancock County with homes dating from the 1840s to the 1920s and encompassing a wide variety of architectural styles.
The weekend will kick-off on Saturday. May 12, with a Champagne and Candlelight Preview from 7-10 p.m. Five featured homes will be open for a limited number of guests for the VIP tour.
Ohio Northern seniors have artwork on display at Elzay Gallery from now through May 4. The gallery exhibition is free and open to the public from 1-4:30 p.m. daily.
Students showing their work are candidates for the bachelor of arts and fine arts in graphic design, studio arts, arts education, and advertising design.
