LIMA SHAWNEE - The Ada softball team lost 11-2 at non-league foe Shawnee in a Wednesday evening contest.
Ada fell to 5-2 and had its four-game win streak snapped with the defeat, while Shawnee improved to 4-0 with the win.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped ahead 2-0 in the top of the first inning on a double by Maddie Gossard. But Shawnee tallied three runs in the bottom of the first, and never trailed again.
The Indians scored two runs in the bottom of the third, then added two more scores in the fourth to take a 7-2 lead.
ADA — The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team scored the game's last five goals to snap a 7-all tie and post a 12-7 victory over Heidelberg on Wednesday evening at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-5 overall and are 3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Student Princes fall to 5-6, 1-3.
TIFFIN — Sophomores Cameron Marous (Brecksville) and Shane Olsen (White Bear Lake, Minn.) each had hat tricks to lead the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team to its eighth straight victory as it defeated Heidelberg 14-3 on Wednesday evening.
The Polar Bears improve to 11-1 overall and 4-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Students Princes drop to 7-5, 1-3.
Marous tallied five goals in the win, while Olsen added four goals.
BEREA — The Ohio Northern softball team extended its winning streak to five games on Wednesday afternoon as it swept Baldwin Wallace 6-4, 9-1 at the BW Softball Field.
The Polar Bears move to 22-4 overall and 8-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 10-14, 3-7.
Junior Hailee Loughman (Brookville) led the way offensively for the Polar Bears as she recorded four hits, three runs scored and added four RBI. The junior also added a home run in the second contest.
