Ever want to sail the ocean blue in a concrete canoe? Yes, canoes made of concrete do float, and ONU students will compete with their canoe on Sunday at a north central regional conference at the University of Western Michigan. For many years, ONU student members of the American Society of Civil Engineers have built a canoe each year to test their engineering skills in competition with other colleges. They first try out their canoe on ONU ponds to be sure it floats.
