Larry E. Dyer, age 69, died on Saturday, August11, 2018 at 2:55 p.m. at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

          He was born June 7, 1949 in Lima to the late Edwin A. and Edith M. (Furnish) Dyer.  On June 30, 1972 he married Patricia A. Wireman and she survives in Waynesfield.

           Also surviving are his daughter: Janie Dyer of Waynesfield, his granddaughter: Rachael (Levi) Jasper of Waterville, Ohio and great grandchildren: Noah and Lilly Jasper and his brother: Mike E. (Lori) Dyer of Alger.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Amber Jane Snyder and by his 2 brothers: Terry L. Dyer and David Dyer and his sister: Stella Jane Gross.

Blanchard Valley Hospital "Live and Learn" Series

Blanchard Valley Hospital (BVH) will host “Eliminate Acid Reflux, Heartburn and GERD,” part of the “Live and Learn” series, to educate the community about ways to remove acid reflux, heartburn and GERD through the new LINX procedure. 

This event will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium of BVH and led by the experienced surgeon Jessica Reynolds, MD from Surgical Associates of Northwest Ohio, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System.

Hors d’oevures and beverages will be provided and seating is limited. RSVP is required by Thursday, Aug. 23 and can be made by calling 419-423-5551 or emailing events @bvhealthsystem.org.

ADA - The continued rebuilding of the Ada boys golf program will be led by three seniors and a solid group of returnees as the Bulldog linksters shoot for improvement in 2018.

 

Sixth-year head coach Jason Campbell has six experienced lettermen back, including three fourth-year players, to help comprise a solid eight-man roster.

 

Seniors Austin Amburgey, Rob Allison and Jake Colwell are the most veteran returnees.

Hardin County is part of the North Central Ohio Waste Management District (NCOWM). We are one of the largest waste districts in the state, consisting of Hardin, Allen, Champaign, Madison, Union and Shelby counties. There are currently 52 waste districts in Ohio.

BLUFFTON - Ada defeated Crestview in a four-team golf match of Northwest Conference rivals at the Bluffton Golf Course Thursday.

 

Co-host Bluffton finished first with 183 strokes, followed by Columbus Grove (196), Ada (215) and Crestview (223).

 

"The boys accomplished their team goal (shooting 220 or less) for the first time this season," said head coach Jason Campbell. "Now they know they can do it. This should roll into the rest of the season."

 

Ada was paced by junior ace Alex Morgan, who shot a nine-hole score of 47. Sophomore teammate Brevin Sizemore posted a 51.

 

The ONU chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, a music society for women, received the 2018 collegiate chapter achievement award at a national convention in Scottsdale, Ariz. Founded in 1903, there are more than 300 chapters of the society located at universities and conservatories.

The ONU chapter is only two years old. The local chapter was hailed for its best accomplishing the group’s national objectives.
