Reichert's served several generations of area shoppers for 68 years

It all started in June 1952 at 206 N. Main St., Ada.

Vince Reichert opened Reichert’s Men’s Clothing Store. The new business held a formal opening on Friday, June 13, that summer. The large Ada Herald newspaper ad stated: “Favors will be given to all men and women visiting our store opening day.”

Graduates hold degrees in several academic disciplines

Several dozen students from Ada, Cory-Rawson, Bluffton and acoss Hardin County graduated from Ohio Northern University in May.

Graduates with local addresses are listed below and include several academic disciplines including law, pharmacy, accounting, music, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, biology, civil engineering, political science and theatre.

Carson Gossard flips burgers during the lunch hour at 302 Carryout on South Main. He's a third-generation family member working at the popular place for a summer lunch. He'll be a freshman at Ada High School in the fall.

The Hardin County Fair board invites input of exhibitors, buyers, potential guests, campers and community members concerning this year's fair.

A survey designed to gauge stakeholders' opinions on holding a modified fair in varying degrees is linked below.  

"The fair is for the youth and for the community," said Corey Ledley, Hardin County Fair board president.  "We are using this survey to get an accurate read on what the community is feeling." 

While the decision to hold or not hold a fair will not be made solely on this data, it will play a role.

Ada’s downtown retail centrerpiece, Reichert’s will close later this summer, says Fred Reichert, owner, who is retiring.

Yesterday’s Icon's Facebook announcement of a 50 to 75% off everything in stock at the popular clothing store sent shivers through Ada Facebook followers.

As of 4 p.m. on Friday, the announcement reached 22,190 Facebook followers. It received 4,218 Facebook engagements, 259 shares and 74 comments from viewers.
