Lewis Family McDonald’s is giving people a break on tax day.

Participating locations will be offering a special promotion for its guests on Tuesday, April 18. Customers who buy a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese can get the second for just 18 cents.
 
“Our customers look forward to our tax day special every year,” said Jerry Lewis, local McDonald’s owner/operator. “This promotion is just another way we offer great value.”
 
This promotion is available on Tuesday, April 18, at McDonald’s in Lima, Bluffton, Delphos, Ada, Van Wert, Beaverdam, Ottawa, Upper Sandusky, Carey, Kenton, and Hicksville.

The Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team climbed to No. 9 in the second weekly United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association power rankings.

This marks the highest the Polar Bears (47-3 Overall) have ever been ranked during the outdoor season in school history.

ONU received 70.77 points in the rankings.

Washington (Mo.) held the top spot with 184.48 points, while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Cal.) came in second with 149.54 points and Williams (Mass.) rounded out the top-3 with 121.00 points.

Northern is coming off of a dominating performance at the Marv Frye Invitational where it took first place in the team standings. 

Men's lacrosse first in OAC

The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team ran its winning streak to eight games and stayed atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings with a 17-3 victory over Heidelberg on Wednesday night at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

The Polar Bears are 9-3 overall and are in first place in the OAC with a perfect 4-0 record, while the Student Princes fall to 3-8, 0-3 in their first year as a varsity program.

Northern scored the first 13 goals of the game and held HU scoreless for more than 37 minutes.

The Ohio Northern University Percussion Ensemble will present its spring concert at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 in Presser Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.  

This concert is sure to be a crowd pleaser, with high-energy music, driving drumbeats and unique compositions. 

Adam Grim, a senior music education and music composition double major from Lima, will be featured in a virtuosic steel-drum concerto by world-famous steel-drum performer and composer Liam Teague. Grim also will be one of the soloists on Brazilian composer Ney Rosauro’s “Concerto for Marimba.”
