An important tool of communicating with residents about current and future needs of the Village is the use of public meetings. Public meetings allow Council and Village staff an opportunity to give residents background information on specific upcoming projects, and just as important, allows residents an opportunity to ask questions and voice comments regarding those specific projects.
Two such meetings will take place next week:
Joseph M. Theodore, Jr., 83, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at his residence in Ada, Ohio. He was born April 29, 1931, to Joseph Medeiros Theodore Sr. and Lillian Lima Theodore in Fall River, Mass.
Accepted to the New England Conservatory of Music after high school, he continued his musical training there before changing direction to a career in Pharmacy and Education.
He earned a BS from the New England College of Pharmacy in 1955 and married Theresa Rouleau that same year.
He received a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1958.
Helen M. Pyatt, 103 died on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 8:13 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1911, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, to Elmer and Blanche (Diehl) Diehl and both are deceased. She married Albert Meier in 1937 and he died. She then married Leroy Pyatt in June 1966 and he died in September 1982.
Junior Taryn Stromback joined the 100 win club as the Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept three matches at the 2nd Annual OAC Tennis Fest at Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
Ohio Northern improves to 15-3 on the season and 6-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
In her career Stromback is 43-22 at singles, 58-14 in doubles play and 101-36 overall. She is the 11th member to notch 100 wins for Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears were led in the first match by senior Michelle Tuma who posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles and teamed up with junior Meghan Letizia to win No. 2 doubles 8-0.
The Ohio Northern women's track & field team broke three ONU school records Saturday as they finished fifth at the All-Ohio meet at the George Gauthier Track located on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan.
Junior Michaela Dramis, sophomore Dianna Johnson-Ward, and the 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Allison Gast, senior Gabrielle Metzner, junior Kristine Wagner, and sophomore Meagan Ellinger all set new ONU school records.
The Polar Bears scored 58.33 points in the meet and improve to 35-7 overall on the season.
Medication Disposal Day is Saturday April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon in two Hardin County locations, including one in Ada.

Enter off Main Street and exit onto College Avenue. Acceptable items include household generated pharmaceuticals, prescription drugs, liquid medications, household pet medications, medicated lotions and sunscreens.
