Jumbo Junior Farmers 4-H Club met on June 27 for their sixth meeting of the year. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Grant Smith followed by the 4-H Pledge led by Evan Lyle. Roll call was answered with favorite sport by 14 members with 3 advisors and 3 parents/guests present.
In old business, T-shirts have been ordered and will be delivered at the next meeting. Members volunteered to help with the Open House of the new Township Hall on July 9th from 10-2. Members will sweep out the barns, donate cookies for the event and help clean during the event.
Lynne Scott leads an aqua zumba class at the Ada Pool on Saturday afternoon. Lynne is a certified aqua zumba instructor and certified to teach zumba on land, too. She has led several zumba classes on terra firma in several towns. The fast-paced aqua zumba routine is held every Saturday at the Ada pool from 12:05 to 12:40 p.m. About 13 people attend each week. Ada area ham radio operators were among members of the Kenton Amateur Radio Club who participated in Field Day 2016 Saturday and Sunday.

The annual Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) 24-hour event involves both a contest aspect and a test of ham radio operators' preparedness to provide essential communications when disasters strike. Amateur radio clubs nationwide participate.
Working with first responders in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and other crises, ham radio has often provided emergency communications when other systems have failed.
The water's cold, but it's loads of fun when you slip and slide at Ada War Memorial Park. ReStore sponsors a free pizza meal and water games at the park from noon to 1 p.m. each Friday all summer long. Everyone is welcome. (Monty Siekerman photo)
