The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce recognized four "retired" volunteers for their many years of work in the Ada Harvest and Herb Festival.

The recognition took place during the Feb. 17 chamber annual dinner meeting in McIntosh Center. Deb Curlis, chamber president, presented the plaques. Curlis also provided members with an update on chamber board members.

Judith Greavu, associate professor emeritus in art at Ohio Northern, is the winner of the 2016–17 Ocala, Florida, Outdoor Sculpture Competition.
Her winning sculpture, titled “Tri Bio, was installed last week in Tuscawilla Park in Ocala.
The competition received over 100 entries from across North America. A selection jury comprised of local community and art organization representatives selected only 10 artists to advance in the competition and travel to Tuscawilla Park for a 20-month exhibit in honor of the park’s centennial anniversary.
Jarod Woodland, Ada, was named to the fall semester Defiance College Dean's List. The honors list is for students achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and enrolled in 6-11 semester hours for which letter grades are given.
Students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and are enrolled in 12 or more semester hours for which letter grades are given are named to the Dean’s list.
